Calling All Skiers - Idaho

I love to ski, earlier this year i decided to take 3000 mile road trip around the smaller mountains and we travelled from CA, to Idaho, Montana, Canada, Washington, Oregon and home again, along the way we found some real gems.

Here is one of my favorite ones

Schweitzer Mountain Resort

This is truly a fantastic place, the ski resort is just amazing, the variety of terrain the snow conditions, the lake view, the cat skiing, the snowmobiling all right there, the lodging is fantastic, staff super friendly and helpful, the resort restaurant Chimney Rock is very good, the free breakfast is awesome.

The lift passes are reasonably priced as is food and drink, even when it's busy lift lines are 1 min - 2 mins on a Saturday ...the bar above the lift ticket window has like 30 beers on tap and another 30 in bottles, great pizza by the slice. Only slight negative is the fog they get some days, but there is always places where you can still get in some good runs where you can see...

You can stay right on the mountain a short few steps from the lifts. The rooms start around $160 a night and lift passes are $77 for full day $65 for 1/2 day and they have night skiing on Friday's and Saturdays most of the Winter.

There is so much terrain here you will not get bored staying 5 + days, you can do cat skiing on the back face and also guided snowmobiling which was a blast.
